Summer Vacation!!

In my last post I talked about how we had bought tickets to see Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw in concert in Denver. Well that weekend finally came and I was so excited. Mike and I had a week off of work that started the Wednesday before. So on Wednesday we all headed over to Stacy and Cameron's pool and went swimming all day. It was so fun to go swimming and spend time outside at the pool. Although we both got a little sunburn since we haven't seen the sun all Summer. But it was still so fun. The next day we headed down to my moms house and hung out with her and Stacy and Ty. We went and got me some new glasses, went and visited with my Grandma Davis, got some snowcones at The Barn and then Mike was a little bored just hanging out so we went to the driving range and hit some golf balls. Ty was so good all day just hanging out with all of us. Then came Friday. We headed out to Glenwood Springs in the early afternoon so that we wouldn't get there to late. When we got there we just hung out and talked and then went to bed because we had to wake up early to head to Denver!

The next morning we headed up to Denver to pick up my mom and Suzy and head to the concert. Mike's mom has told me about this awesome mall in Denver that I wanted to go to and then I found out they had my favorite restaurant there and so after we picked up my mom we headed down to the mall. It is called Park Meadows and it is amazing! It is huge and they have every store you can think of. And it was so cute. We were only able to shop for a little bit because we wanted to get some lunch before picking up Suzy so for lunch we headed to Grand Lux Cafe. Suzy and I love that restaurant and we would always go there when we were in Vegas. And it was just as good as I remember.

We then headed back to the airport to pick up Suzy! After we picked her up we headed to the hotel and checked in and freshened up a little bit and then we headed to the concert. We were so excited!

The field is in downtown Denver so traffic was a little heavy but we finally got to the stadium!!

My mom tried Calamari for the first time!

Jake Owen opened the concert and he did a good job. It was so so so hot when we got there though so when we found our seats we immediately had to go down and get some water because we were dying. So we missed some of his set but what we saw it was really good. Then it was Grace Potter. She isn't my favorite but it was still fun and she did a good job. Well then we figured Tim McGraw would come out next but I thought that there would be a longer intermission than there was so we headed down to get some food. Of course I pick the slowest line possible so I missed the opening of Tim but that is ok because the rest of his set was awesome! By far the best Tim concert I have been too. At a lot of his concerts he would sing more of his recent songs instead of his classics that everyone knows but this time he only sang a couple new songs and the rest were his big hits. It was so so fun!!

Then it was finally time for Kenny. Like always he made a grand entrance in the center of the field and then rode this swing thing back to the stage over the crowd. It was so awesome. He was once again amazing and it was over two hours of non stop fun and energy. There is nothing like his concerts. One of the highlights of the night was right before Kenny sang Boys of Fall Peyton Manning and some other Bronco came out and signed a helmet and then they gave it to a little girl. It was so cool to see Peyton Manning!! After his set was done they both came out and sang a couple songs together. Although I think Tim may have had a little to much to drink because he couldn't remember a lot of the lyrics. It was kind of funny. But still awesome!! I'm so glad my mom was able to come with us this year. It was so fun to have her there!!!

I am so glad that we went out. This was our eighth year seeing Kenny and every year he doesn't disappoint. It was awesome and such a fun night. The next day Suzy's flight left early so she headed to the airport after breakfast and after the rest of us got ready we headed back down to the mall that we love. We did some more shopping and got some cute stuff and before we knew it it was time to take my mom to the airport. So we dropped her off and then headed back to Glenwood.

We came home the next day and just relaxed on our last couple days of vacation. The next day was the 24th so we decided to celebrate my moms birthday. We all headed down to Provo Beach Resort. They had a special going on where you get do all you want for just $25. So we all bought the day passes and played around all day. It was a lot of fun!! We ate dinner at Malawi's since I can eat there and then we headed back over for some more fun! It was a great day and the best way to end our vacation. It was so nice to have a week off to just relax and have fun. It was definitively needed!!
